The Value of Suffering

Why do we suffer? This has to be one of the more frequently asked of the larger questions about life. Millions across the globe fall peril to daily suffering that often seems senseless. There is hardly a soul alive today that has not faced some form of either physical or mental suffering along the road of life. So where is the redemptive value in this pain?

Since life is a never-ending process of the expansion of awareness, the direction this expansion takes is based on our intents and desires. There is a certain process of gaining the knowledge necessary to achieve these creative desires. Suffering is simply one part of this process. These desires could be as simple as wanted to eat and stay sheltered or as more complex as building a large business or sharing your creativity with the world, either way there is a process to accomplish these ideas.

When information hits your senses that is not in line with what you believe is true about yourself, you suffer because of it. For example if you believe your particular job is the only way you can provide for yourself and you lose the job, your suffering will be a result of a mind that says I will not be able to provide for myself. However, if your belief is that you will always be able to provide for yourself and you lose your job, you may not suffer at all but actually may become excited about the new opportunities that may unfold for you. The suffering in this case is to represent to you that what you believe about how you provide is NOT true.

The previous example can be used for any circumstance including the loss of a loved one, physical illness, financial concern, family troubles, relationship issues etc. The point being offered is that the value in the suffering is in the underlying message it is sending you regarding what you believe to be true. Suffering is telling you that the belief you hold that causes the suffering is NOT THE ULTIMATE TRUTH ABOUT WHO YOU ARE. There is a greater truth that is waiting to be embraced and when it is embraced suffering dissolves and peace and tranquility are yours to be experienced.

This is not presented due to a lack of empathy or compassion for what anyone is going through in the world today. It is just the opposite. It is out off the greatest empathy, compassion and love that this information is offered as the way to experience the greatest amount of joy, peace and creative fulfillment along the journey of life.

Suffering births questions. It is these questions that lead you to more of the answers you are truly looking for as you continue on your creative path. Suffering is simply a more pronounced way that the universe nudges you towards the great gift of self-reelection and self-awareness that allows you to experience more of the grandeur, magnificence and possibility of who you really are. The more you can see this the less you will suffer as you will see that life is always working with you and your deepest of desires.

What this moment means for YOU

Every moment of your life has an exact meaning. No moment is wasted. Each one serves a different purpose and carries a different message, but the events of life are all individually and collectively presented to serve YOU.

Which moment is always the most important one? THIS ONE.

In this moment you are bringing yourself the unavoidable truth that reality is here to serve you. You ask the questions and then the information comes into your experiences, just like this blog right now. Sometimes you see it and sometimes you don’t. In this moment the universe is just screaming a little louder at you, YOU HAVE BEEN HEARD, ARE BEING HEARD, AND WILL ALWAYS BE HEARD.

The question isn’t, “Is the Universe listening?”, the question is, “ARE YOU?”

Keep asking your questions. Watch what enters your space. Believe in your worth and perfection. Have faith in your endless creative ability, and most importantly….

Love who you are ☺

Oh, and thank yourself and the world that serves you for reminding you of all of this through this message!

There is SO much more yet to come for you….

Much Peace & love.

Questions & Answers About Life Part 1

The following are questions submitted in a recent webinar I held in October titled “Master Your Reality”. Each week a few new questions and responses from the event will be posted.

QUESTION: how do we make sure we don’t let self-love and self-awareness cross the line into selfishness and egotistic behavior?

RESPONSE: By understanding the distinct difference in the two. Serving oneself as a way to run from a negative state of mind is egotistic behavior and is temporary. Serving oneself as a way to liberate the cause of a negative state of mind through self-awareness and understanding, lasts forever and leads to unconditional love of the self and others. Egotistic behavior is behavior that serves the self at the expense of others. Practicing self-awareness and self-love is behavior that serves the self-leading to the benefit of all others.

Egotistic and selfish behavior comes from the need to feel better about yourself as it relates to other people. Self-awareness brings you to self-love through the realization that there is no better or worse but that all people are equal and perfect as is. Since the work of the ego diminishes through self-awareness, selfishness as a concept dissolves as well because there is no longer a purpose for it. Through self-love he opposite actually occurs where helping and sharing with others when needed or asked becomes an automatic response. You realize through awareness of the self that nothing can ever truly be lost or taken away from you which is a very liberating way to live. In the fear dominated ego mind you fear that everything can be taken away and you work hard and often times selfishly to protect your age, money, beauty, image, possessions, status, rank, power, etc… A futile and energy draining cycle.

QUESTION: Other then meditation, what are some ways to balance and center ourselves day to day?

RESPONSE: Focus on all you do have and all you have to be grateful for rather than what you think you do not have. Realize that all the context of the experience of life is a choice made by you and how you choose to interpret it in each moment.

Come to know and love the perfection that you are in this moment and the perfection for everything that is occurring in your life. Remember, it is not happening TO you but rather FOR you. Challenge the purpose of these occurrences until you come to love the rest of the world for the moment by moment perfection that it is…after all, it’s all there to support you on your never-ending journey……

QUESTION: Once we recognize our reality for what it really is, what is the next step?

RESPONSE: The next step is the same as it was before your discovery, you choose. Except this time you are creating with the knowledge and understanding of your unlimited ability to create life as you desire it to be. In addition to this you are creating from a new level of unconditional love for yourself and the world around you. Therefore, what you create generally alines with “serving” others in some way on the path to the same powerful & liberating understanding :-)
